January 2011: Main supply line froze and broke within the second floor ceiling in an vacant health club facility in Butte MT. The leak was not found for 24-48hrs, and the entire building was affected by the loss.
Dayspring Restoration was called in to supply the necessary equipment and supervise the local labor force for structural drying and emergency water mitigation of the 640,000 cuft building.
Upon arriving at the site, Dayspring Restoration secured the building and implemented a drying strategy the included 175kgw of temporary power from two generators, 5000+cfm of desiccant dehumidification, and 605,000 BTUs of temporary heat.
Although the source of the water loss was consider clean, this loss became categorized as a Cat 3/Black water loss due to the time that had passed from the initial discovery of the water damage until the call was made for a response by the ownership of the building. Major demolition of the affected surfaces that were porous in nature/non-restorable was conducted by a local labor force and was managed by the site superintendent/ Dayspring IICRC Commercial Drying Specialist.
The facility was primarily gutted then sanitized, and the remaining structural framing was returned to a dry standard within 7 days.
