Each year, the Missoula Building Industry Association hosts the community's Parade of Homes & Remodeling Tour, which showcases the best work of builders and remodelers in Missoula. The event is the culmination of the hard work and greatest accomplishments of the building and remodeling community.

Our Missoula Home Restoration Entry

Dayspring Restoration's home restoration entry for the Parade was Heliopolis Heights in Missoula, which won the award for Notable Kitchen.

Heliopolis Heights may be the first of its kind to be entered in the Missoula Parade of Homes since its inception. The visitor to this beautiful home may ask, "Why is this home called Heliopolis Heights"?

Heliopolis is a city with roots in Egyptian culture. In mythology, it's believed to be where the mythological phoenix bird after came to rest after burning to ashes, returning to life and flying away.

A visitor to this home (originally built by Shelter West in 2005) will be surprised to discover that this home sustained significant fire damage.

Out of the ashes, it has reemerged through a careful and methodical restoration process. The fire started in the lower level, and the structure was severely impacted by the fire in the master suite. Smoke odor and staining penetrated the rest of the home, leaving no surface untouched.

Restoring This Historic Missoula Home

The process of the fire restoration for this property was rigorous.

The first steps involved a complete assessment of the damage by carefully removing the layers of charred debris and impacted materials.

This was followed by a thorough removal of smoke residue on the structural materials, using state-of-the-art restorative technologies.

After the smoke was removed and all the surfaces were cleaned and sealed, the process of reconstruction began to commence. From the heart-walnut wood floors to the alder cabinets and fir woodwork, the superb finishes in this home have been restored to reflect an elegant taste.
